UBOC

UB has its own online tournament series called the UBOC (UB Online Championship) that consists of more than 20 tournaments and $5,000,000 in guaranteed prizes. Every year, poker players compete at UB to become the newest online tournament champion.

The UBOC takes place over the course of 12 days every year and it consists of multiple tournament formats. There are six regular no-limit Holdem events plus a variety of other games, including shorthanded events, sniper tournaments, HORSE events, rebuys and more. It’s sort of like a miniature World Series of Poker that takes place online.

The prizes for each UBOC event vary based on the number of entrants, but the prizes are never small. One of the winners from last year’s UBOC took home a cash prize of $330,900 after he took down the $1 Million Guaranteed six-max event. The winner of the championship event took home nearly $280,000 last year.

In addition to cash prizes, the winners of each event receive a commemorative UBOC watch. Where winners of WSOP events win bracelets, winners at UBOC get a special watch that serves as a constant reminder of their achievement.

The buyins to each UBOC event range from $109 to $1050 but there are also lots of satellites that give out free seats to UBOC events. In fact, UB also holds a contest that rewards the players who win the most seats to UBOC events. If you win multiple entries to a single UBOC event, you’ll earn tournament dollars for each additional seat you win. The player who wins the most seats to each UBOC event also receives tournament dollars equal to two additional buyins at that tournament.
